a week of wins!

Last week was one for the books! As Erinn wrote about in her latest blog, a dear Dale friend had their (urgent) housing and healthcare needs met in an unusually timely fashion. This was the result of some pretty beautiful teamwork on the part of a variety of agencies; further proof that partnership and collaboration are sweet, sweet things. In a system that too often lets people down, it was amazing to bear witness to something working out really well.

Also last week, we took a community member’s beloved pet to the vet for a follow-up appointment. We were afraid that the news would be bad, and would require some difficult decisions for our friend who was already having an extra challenging week. But… the news was positive! The treatment steps that both the vet and our friend had taken were successful, and we were able to return this special critter to her owner with the good news.

That same day we were hanging out in the parkette by our local health center, as we do every week. A friend, whose journey has been quite a heartbreaking rollercoaster, showed up looking the healthiest we’ve seen them look in a long time. While we know that the struggles in our friend’s life remain very real, it was encouraging to see them in a good space.

I remain very grateful to all of you who have chosen to join me on the journey that is life at The Dale, through your prayers, financial support and readership. In the midst of the hard things in all of our lives, may you be encouraged by these bits of hopeful news this Easter week.
